The sensing unit of the system is called Geocube.
It consists in a ruggedized GPS coupled with a RF device enabling communication between cubes and coordinator.
In order to make it work, just power it on. It finds its own network, and communicates with the coordinator.
It withstands harsh conditions, and consumes only 500mW when working and 4 mW when sleeping.
